Thursday night while we were out I received an email with the following subject line and got freaked out! Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens: Closure of U.S. Embassy in Kuwait on August 4, 2013.
This was what the email said:
U.S. Embassy Kuwait
Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens – August 1, 2013
The Department of State has instructed certain U.S. Embassies and Consulates to remain closed or to suspend operations on Sunday, August 4. The Department has been apprised of information that, out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting our installations, indicates we should institute these precautionary steps. It is possible we may have additional days of closings as well, depending on our analysis. Accordingly, the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait will be closed on Sunday, August 4.
And there was some other things, but this was the gist of it. I didn’t really think anything about it. But later I was watching the news and saw that they shut down all the embassies in the Middle East and North Africa because of threats.
This morning I woke up and saw another email saying that the embassies will be closed until August 10th! I’ve never been in a situation where this is happened before. So it is scary for me! I am praying that everything will be alright and all this is just precautionary methods.
